Carmelites in Indo-German Exchange Program-2009

A home away from home is the expression that best describes our trip to Germany. Ever since we were informed of the Indo-German exchange program, 2nd June became the most awaited day of the summer vacations for us ten exchangees. Our Principal, Sr. Nirmalini and Teacher Ruma Nandy were to accompany us on the program.

Carmel Convent School, New Delhi, founded on July 16th, 1957 is one of the institutions conducted by the Congregation of Sisters of the Apostolic Carmel. This is an Indian Congregation, which took its roots in the year 1870, in its Foundress Mother Veronica, a holy and dedicated woman. We draw our inspiration from Christ, who willed the total development of every person, as also from our Foundress, Mother Veronica.
While our education is directed towards the total development of the person we too are primarily concerned with instilling Gospel values in those we educate and forming responsible citizens in the country who are ready to take their place in social, political and cultural life with selflessness and zeal.

Objectives
Our aim is to form integrated women capable of responding to life's challenges with joy and a deep faith in GOD. Women whose choices and decisions are guided by right values, enriched by our cultural heritage and those who are committed to the services of our people.
Carmel Convent School has a spacious well planned building and playground. This includes basketball, volleyball, badminton and tennis courts. The school boasts of having well equipped science and computer laboratories and an extensive computerized library.
Carmel Convent is recognized by the Directorate of Education, of the Delhi Administration and is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education.
The school has been at the service of the lower income group since it was started. A free evening school with Hindi, English medium is conducted in our school in which pupils of all classes and creeds are admitted.

Achievers

Principal Speak

Sr. Nirmalini A.C.

What makes the youth a big power?
We should be thankful that God has given us a chance to experience the phase of life that we call Youth. It s when we’re being a youth that we have so many dreams to pursue and so many hopes to count on. These dreams can take us to the stars and galaxies till, like Kalpana Chawla, we realize them and die for in the process, if need be. It is when we are being a youth that our minds are full of idealism that becomes our guidance. What makes the youth a big power?
