Extra-curricular activities form an integral part of Carmel Convent School. Our various clubs are the very epi-center of activity and are the pride of our school. Under the guidance of able and enthusiastic teachers, our Clubs serve as a platform for students to prove themselves in various fields other than academics.
The Wordsmiths
When a tireless vision joins hand with an enthusiastic team of creative individuals, it leads to an emergence of new vistas. The Wordsmiths - our literary club, is a similar venture to promote the literary and artistic skills of our students. It aims at encouraging promising talents, so as to incorporate innovative methods of creation appreciation. The team members are also taught to work together for a common goal. Thus being inspired to look beyond individual achievements. The club members are divided into three groups. Each group works in synchronized harmony with the other for the quarterly journal.

Geography and History Club (GEST)
The Geography and History club 'GEST' was established in August 2010 under the guidance of Teacher Ruma Nandy and Pamela Pinto. The club consists of 10 members and has organized two inter - school competitions. A model making competition was held on 22nd August 2010 in the schools auditorium. Students of class VI,VII and VIII participated in this competition and winners were awarded with certificates. GEST also organized a quiz competition for middle school on 22nd December 2010. Certificates were awarded to the winners. Both the competitions were well received by the students.
Nequs Quiz Club (NQC)
If 'Eureka' is your most favourite word, if your greatest fantasy ever is to meet quizzing legends like Siddharth Basu and Derek 'O' Brien and if your thirst for knowledge just increases day by day, the Nexus Quiz Club is where you belong. It is one of the oldest and most active clubs of CCS in terms of meetings, participation and interaction among members. The students' participation in the club's activities not only gives them an experience of life time but also increases their general awareness and teaches them the importance of team work. The club has also made efforts to inject young blood into its core group. This club under the able guidance and constant support by teacher Annie Matthew, P.C. Annapoorni (President) and Vrinda Mittal (Vice President) has been better organized and regulated, and promises to achieve greater success in the near future.
The Oracle computer club
The Oracle computer club is headed by Tr.Suchanda Sen. Under the guidance of teachers Urmil Mahawar,Rashmi Chopra and Shilpi Mathur the club encourages students to develop their technical skills and acts a platform for deserving students to showcase their talents in programming and computer applications. Other than the various school activities, during the annual cultural week the club organizes inter-school competitions in web designing, digital imaging and computer symposiums for senior school. Paintbrush, powerpoint and fancy dress competitions are organized for junior school students. The club's President and Vice President are Ruchira Kapoor and Prachi Sharma respectively for the year 2010 - 11.
Carmel Blossoms
The Carmel Blossoms unit was started in November 2003. Currently it comprises of 60 members who are acquainted with the life of Mother Veronica and are also taught Gospel Parables and prayers.
Carmel Blossoms meetings are held once in every fortnight. During these meetings, Carmel Blossoms watch presentations on various saints, moral values etc. Quizzes are also held from time to time . Carmel Blossoms also stages skits during the general assembly. The gift of Maggi was staged during Christmas time.
There is also an Initiation day. On this day new members are sworn in . Every year, there is a meet held for the Carmel Blossoms of the Western Province.
The Carmel Blossoms also visit orphanages and old age homes and contribute whatever little they can for the same.
Literacy Training Service (LTS)
The Leadership Training Services, popularly known as the L.T.S group, is the social service club of our school. With Tr. Preeti Shenoy as incharge of the club, student members develop leadership qualities by working as a team for any good cause. Under the guidance of Sr. Therese and the afternoon school teachers, this year the students of the L.T.S. club voluntarily decided to stay back after school to teach the afternoon school children. They shared their experiences with others in the weekly activity periods. In one of the activity periods the students were told in detail about the birth, family and work of our founder Mother Veronica, following which they also made charts on her life to display on their class boards.
During the Diwali week the LTS members sold beautiful Diyas which they had bought from the local market, on the school grounds. This activity usually generates a feeling of pride and responsibility in the children, while in the Christmas fete, members sold candles as a part of their leadership activity under the guidance of Tr. Shipra and Tr.Mary. The students prepared handmade paper bags to carry the sold candles.
The yearend activity ended with Christmas sharing. The students of the afternoon school staged "Birth of Christ". In spite of her heavy schedule, Sr.Nirmalini's kind presence and blessings was appreciated by all. The L.T.S members sang Christmas carols and distributed sweets to the afternoon school members. Later on they had arranged a small Christmas party for them.
The Board Committee
The Board Committee is a
pulpit where our students can show their artistic skills. Members of the Board Committee decorate the main board for every event that goes on in the school. Be it Independence Day, or Carmel Feast, or our Cultural Week, the Board Committee is never late in redecorating the boards.
English Jadoca Debate Club
The club is a platform for the students interested in debates to showcase their celebrating skills.The members take part in various debates held at the class, school and inter school levels.Many students have brought laurels to the school at the inter-school debate competitions.The teachers in charge of the clubs are Ms. Swati Das and Ms Rashmi Choudhary.
Parisar Hindi Debate Club
Headed by Ms Jyotsana, the Parisar Hindi Debate Club promotes Hindi culture among the students and strives generate interest in our national language.
Carmel Expressions
Carmel Expressions,the magazine committee under the guidance of Tr. Nandini Roy, aims at promoting literary, creative and artistic talents among our students. An issue is released annually, which publish articles written by the students and teachers. They also organize creative writing and cartoon making competitions.
Theatricals Society
The Theatricals society transforms mere zeroes to heroes. With the efforts of the teachers and the students, the theatricals society has come out with great talents.
Maths Olympians Club
If you are a Maths lover, if you are a number player then the maths club is the best place for you. Maths
has always been a favourite subject of many students and this led to the initiation of the Maths Olympians
Club by teachers Ma'am Sita, Ma'am Preeti and Ma'am Rekha. We look forward for its great success and hope that the club does something good for the school and the kids.
Heavy Musical Melodies(HMM) and Tarana
The Jewel on the Crown, one of the greatest prides of Carmel, the HMM group headed by Mr Samuel and the Tarana headed by Mrs Geeta Deb, have not only instilled team spirit amongst the students but have bought constant fame and glory to the school.
The Environment Club
Under the able guidance of Ms Renu Dhawan the Environment Club was started in 1996. It aims at promoting an environmental awareness among the students and the society. Carmel's contribution to the cause of environment has always been highly appreciated.
Phenomena - The Carmel Science Club
Phenomena, the Carmel science club was formed on 27th August, 2007. This club is guided by teachers Kavita Thapar, Anupa and Nandita. It enables students to pursue the scientific aspirations and to think out of the box. The club organizes various competitions. The members too, are actively involved in participating in different contests.
