On the 7th
of May, 2006, Carmel Convent adopted the NUH village in Haryana,
100 kms from Delhi.
This project was undertaken after students saw the plight of the people in NUH
village. Since then, the schools representatives have been visiting Nuh
village almost every month.
The success of this venture is evident from the visible changes in NUH after
its adoption by Carmel
Convent School,
Delhi. Doctors
among parents have graciously volunteered to provide free medical checkups to
the people in the village. Free mid ay meals are being provided to 50 children
and free education is being provided to all children. One of the most impressive achievements is that 44 students have been able to join regular school after being trained at the village
The transformation of NUH has been possible only with the
support and cooperation of all the people.
We would appreciate continued support in our endeavours to uplift and
expand the NUH project. If any person
wishes to volunteer financially or in any other way, please contact the school
principal, Sr. Nirmalini at the following email ID : carmel@ndf.vsnl.net.in
