School Hymns

Our father in Heaven, holy be your name your kingdom come,
your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us today our daily bread, forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us, do not bring us to the test, but deliver us from evil, Amen.

Mother of Carmel, the school is under your protection. Keep each one on this campus free from all harm and danger. Be with us daily as we travel from and back home. Look after us as your own loving children. Amen.

Lord of all power and might, give me wisdom and understanding today. Let me grow in knowledge and bear fruit in active goodness. Strengthen me with ample power to meet whatever comes,
with fortitude, patience and joy and to give thanks to you in all things. Amen.

Bless us O’Lord and these your gifts,
Which we are about to receive from your goodness.
Help us to bring bread and joy,
To those who have them not. Amen.

Lord make me an instrument of your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, be with us on our way home.
Mother of Carmel, guide and protect us.
This prayer we make for your love’s sake. Amen.

Thank you Lord for your love for me today.
Thank you for my family to which I will be going back now.
Thank you for the friends whose company I enjoyed and whose support I relied on.
Thank you for my teachers who worked with me and for the workers who were of service to me. Amen.

Raised on high we lift our Carmel banner
Rally around pace the ground together
All unite to lift the flag on high.
And pledge true loyalty this day till we die.
Onward to the goal we go
Till we reach the far eternal shore
Carmel’s children all unite and stand for the right
All evil forces fight.
Onward as we march along
Do the right avoid all sin and wrong
Look ahead and onward to a land far beyond
Keep on till the prize is won.

Pure as Carmel snows and lovely,
As its first fair morning shine,
Crowned with stars of changeless splendor,
Hail thou mother maid divine,
Hail thou lady of the mountain,
Rearing up its stately height,
Emblematic of thy graces,
Glowing in immortal light.
Ch: Mother of Mount Carmel hear,
Bless thy children gathered here.
Raise thy voice for us to Jesus,
On this blessed feast of thine,
Raise thy pure hands up to bless us,
As we gather round thy shrine,
Bless oh bless us now and over,
Thou who once this dark earth trod,
And when dying waft our spirits;
To our home in heaven with God.

I have come to thee to take thy touch before I begin my day
Let thy eyes rest upon eyes for a while.
Let me take to my work the assurance of thy comradeship, my friend.
Fill my mind with music to last through the desert of noise.
Let love’s sunshine, kiss the peaks of my thoughts, and linger in my life’s valley, where the harvest ripens.

Isn’t it a miracle to open your eyes in the morning
To see the golden sun rise, and hear the birds sing
Isn’t it a miracle to feel the gentle breeze
And to see the wind dancing in the trees ?
Yes, it’s a miracle, there are miracles every moment,
That God is always present, His strength is never spent
Yes, it’s a miracle, to be alive and be living
Each day is a miracle with its countless blessings.
Isn’t it a miracle, that God speaks to us to his beauty
In nature waking to life in sprightly spring time
Wearing cloaks of myriad colours,
and fragrance ever so sweet
With the animals set to dancing feet ?

Isn’t it a miracle to open your eyes in the morning
To see the golden sun rise, and hear the birds sing
Isn’t it a miracle to feel the gentle breeze
And to see the wind dancing in the trees ?
Yes, it’s a miracle, there are miracles every moment,
That God is always present, His strength is never spent
Yes, it’s a miracle, to be alive and be living
Each day is a miracle with its countless blessings.

Lord we pray for golden peace,
Peace all over the land.
May all men dwell in liberty,
Walking hand in hand
Ch: Banish fear and ignorance
Hunger, thirst and pain,
Banish hate and poverty,
Let no man live in vain. (2)
Keep all men forever one.
One in love and grace,
Wipe away all war and strife.
Give freedom to each race.
Let your justice reign supreme
And righteousness be done,
Let goodness rule the hearts of men
And evil be overcome.

Make me a channel of your peace,
Where there is hatred let me sow your love,
Where there is injury, pardon Lord,
And where’s doubt, true faith in you.
Ch: O master grant that I may never seek,
So much to be consoled as to console,
To be understood as to understand,
To be loved as to love with all my soul.
Make me a channel of your peace,
Where there’s despair in life, let me bring hope.
And where there’s doubt true faith in you.
Make me a channel of your peace,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
In giving to all men that we receive,
And in dying that we are born to eternal life.

I’m only human, I’m just a woman
Help me believe in what I could be, and all that I am
Show me the stairway I have to climb
Lord for my sake teach me to take
One day at a time
One day at a time, sweet Jesus
That’s all I’m asking from you
Just give me the strength to do everyday
What I have to do.
Yesterday’s gone, sweet Jesus
Tomorrow may never be mine
Lord help me today show me the way
One day at a time.
Do you remember, when you walked among men
Well Jesus you know if you’re looking below
It’s worse now than then
Cheating and stealing violence and crime
So for my sake, teach me to take
One day at a time. Repeat

Abide with me, fast falls the eventide;
The darkness deepens, Lord with me abide;
When other helpers fail, and comforts flee;
Help of the helpers, O abide with me,
Swift to its close ebbs out life’s little day;
Earth’s joys grow dim, it glories pass away;
Change and decay in all around see;
O thou who changest not, abide with me.
Hold thou thy Cross before my closing eyes;
Shine through the gloom, and point me to the skies;
Heaven’s morning breaks, and earth’s vain shadows flee
In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.

All Things Bright and Beautiful
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord, God made them all.

Each little flower that opens
Each little bird that sings
He made their glowing colours
He made their tiny wings.

The purple headed mountain,
The river running by
The sunset and the morning,
That brightens up the sky.

He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell,
How great is God almighty,
Who has made all things well.

Footsteps walking with me
Footsteps I cannot see
But every move I make
And every step I take
I know that they are with me
They walk with me all the way
Besides me day by day
Be good and bad
Be happy and sad
Footsteps walk all the way.

I’ll never walk in life alone
There always be someone there
I know he won’t let me down
He’s with me everywhere
Special things in life I’ve done
Have been through him in his love
I have been blessed in so many ways

Thanks to the Lord above
I think that my life has been planned
By the one who is guiding me
When I am led by the hands
Of someone I can’t see
I’m not always sure where to go
That’s when I follow his lead
I know that the pathway that shows
Will help me to succeed.
